Welcome Address from Chief Allen

Boozhoo, Zhaawinigaabo Indigo, Adik Indoodem, Nigigoonsiminikaaning Indoonji, Ogimakaan.

I would like to welcome you to the Nigigoonsiminikaaning First Nation website. The website is filled with valuable information for you to find out about different initiatives happening in the community.

It is a tool for respectful dialogue and sharing of information.

It is the Chief and Council’s responsibility to represent the interests of the First Nation and the citizens who comprise our community, it is important to remember the value and standards the citizens ask us how to interact with each other.

This Chief and Council will not react to posts or information on social networking sites because we cannot verify the authenticity and information that is available in these public domains. We will however, ask that the community join in developing a governance model that serves the interest of citizens living in urban centres and in the community.

We would like your input on all facets of the governance initiative and there will be opportunities for participation in this process.

The first stage of development will focus on the strategic plan and visioning for the community.

We are posting the Chief & Council recommendations for you to read, debate and offer your insight into what you want to see in the strategic plan.

It will be your plan, so please participate.
